Heather - Head Coach
Heather Holmes currently resides in North Olmsted. She took over the Head Coach position from Russ Kasl when he left for Mecklenberg Aquatic Club in the fall of 2002. She was an assistant to Russ for four years prior to that time and also was the Head Coach of Bay Village High School for five years. While at Bay, Heather received the SWC Coach of the Year award in 2001 for the boys team. Heather swam for the Cincinnati Pepsi Marlins throughout her years in Cincinnati where she attended Mariemont High School. She was a conference champion while in high school, and a finalist at the Ohio HS State Swim Meet. In addition, she attended Junior Nationals on several occasions. Heather received a full scholarship to swim at Bowling Green State University where she received a BS in Education before pursuing a career in teaching. She has eight years of experience teaching Special Education at various school systems in Bowling Green and the Cleveland area. Heather then chose to pursue her love of swimming by getting a Masters Degree at the University of Akron in Sport Science and Coaching. She graduated in 2002, just before taking over as the full time head coach of Lake Shore Swim Club.
Josh - Navy & Gold Groups
Josh Brown currently resides in Bay Village. Josh comes
to Lake Shore with 5 years of coaching experience from Bay Recreation Swim Team. He attends Cleveland State University full time while working part time with LSSC. He attended high school at Bay Village where he participated in soccer and swimming. Josh was a stand-out soccer player for Bay, earning 1st team All Cleveland and Defensive
Player of the Year in Cleveland. For swimming, he was a team captain for Bay, a
sectional and district qualifier, and also a part of the SWC Championship Team in
2001.
Matt - Gold and Dynamo Groups
Matt Weber is an Assistant
Coach for our Gold and Dynamo group. Matt swam for LSSC from 1991-1994
and form 1997-1998. Matt graduated from
Molly - Dynamo Group
Molly worked for the Rocky River Recreation Department as Director of Learn to Swim, Assistant Swim Team Coach, Learn to Skate Instructor, and Ski Club Advisor. She was also Aquatic Manager and Swim Team Coach for Five Seasons Country Club. She is currently a nursery school teacher at Rocky River Presbyterian Nursery School. Molly lives in Rocky River with her husband, Cash. She has three children – Dean who is a student at Bowling Green University, Madeleine who is a student at the University of Montana, and Mary who is a sophomore at Rocky River High School. Both of her daughters swam for LSSC and the Rocky River High School swim team.
Sara - Navy Group
Sara has been coaching the Avon High School swim team for the past two years. She swam for the University of Miami (Florida). Sara also swam at Lakewood High School and set a school record for the 500 Free and was a member of a record setting 200 Medley Relay. Her favorite events are: 400IM and 1650 Free. Sara is a 4th grade teacher in the Avon schools. She is married to Jason and they have two dogs - Buckeye and Snowball.
